Frequently asked Questions:
+ How do I calculate my revenue?
At the start of your turn, each business you have on the board generates £1B per turn, whilst your HQ generates $2B, regardless of how many phase layers it has. When a market's revenues are counted, they are then modified by World Events, which may double, add to or subtract from a market areas overall revenue generation.
+ Who goes first?
Player order is determined by whatever house rules you choose.
+ Who picks their CEO Character first?
House rules rule here, we suggest trying new CEO characters each play-through to learn how to use the game-changing CEO Power cards at just the right moment.
+ What can I do when it's not my turn?
Most of the time you are reacting to the actions of the player who's turn it is - responding to their attacks. You may use counter nasty business at any time, even to defend another player. You may also surreptitiously converse with any other player(s) to form tactical alliances.
+ Is it free to play nasty business?
Yes, the cost in the right hand corner of the card only applies to laying down a phase card
+ Do you discard old world event cards?
Yes, world event cards are discarded whenever a new world event is rolled for a market.
+ If I use a hostile takeover to steal someone's laid down phase card in my suit do they keep their base expansion?
Yes, and they also keep the city associated with that phase
+ Can I perform a hostile takeover on business cards that are not my colour?
No - however if another player has laid a phase using one of your Suit colour then you may either i. Buy the card from them in your turn for it's face value or ii. use an Agent card to claim it for free.
+ Does "nasty business" work against agent actions?
No, nasty business can only be used against other nasty business actions
+ Are CEO power cards locked to a particular CEO??
Yes, the colour (see the CEO icon for visual spectrum challenged players) of the card indicates the CEO associated with a CEO power card
+ How long do world events last for?
World events last until either a new world event for that market is rolled or a player removes a world event using nasty business or a CEO power card
+ How does Bankruptcy work?
When a player is made bankrupt they: i. cannot gain revenue on their next turn but otherwise may play as usual ii. Must turn their token to "Rebranding" once they have taken their no-revenue turn iii. Whilst bankrupt or rebranding a player may not have financial attacks played against them
+ If I lose a phase card to a hostile take over, can I play the next level up from that phase card even if it's not there?
No, Phase cards must always be played in order and have the preceding phase in-play.
+ Can I call Audit on anything?
You can call Audit on any incorrectly used game element, arguably, but we left the rules somewhat ambiguous to allow house rules. Principally Audit is used at the start of a players turn when another player believes they have incorrectly calculated revenue for their turn.
+ How do I get new businesses?
Businesses can be gained through certain nasty business cards, or by playing phase cards in any colour and paying for the business associated with that phase card
